MILWAUKEE YAMAHA AIM TO CARRY WINNING MOMENTUM TO THRUXTON

James Ellison: looking for another win at Thruxton
The 2.35-mile circuit produces some of the closest action of the season with the high-speed nature providing constant slip-streaming opportunities. Ellison has been a podium finisher before for Yamaha and is ready to build on his win just a few days ago at Brands Hatch. Waters is ready for the challenge of the new circuit and having scored a top ten finish on his MCE BSB debut is feeling positive about the weekend ahead.

Ellison said: “This weekend is one I am really looking forward to and if myself and the Milwaukee Yamaha team continue to work as hard as we have been then I am sure it will continue to pay off. It is a fun circuit and one that we have seen in the past that the Yamaha really works well around. I think we definitely have the potential of another good weekend and hopefully the chance to be back on the podium for the Milwaukee team.”

Thruxton- a very quick circuit

Waters said: “Looking at Thruxton it seems to have very similar characteristics to the tracks we have back home in Australia so for me that is pretty cool. I think I learnt a lot from the first round last weekend so we just need to keep moving forwards with things and get two good results. The Milwaukee Yamaha feels good and I am looking forward to this track as it looks really fast.”

In the Motorpoint British Supersport Championship William Dunlop is aiming for a pair of solid finishes after a challenging opening round at Brands Hatch.

Ellison and Waters- experience at a very high level
Ellison said: “I am looking forward to the first round so I can gauge how strong we are going to be and what I'm up against this year; obviously I can see it’s a strong pack from watching on TV last year but with the little amount of testing we have it’s not enough to really have an idea where we will be. I know the team and bike is strong enough to run at the front every weekend so it's down to me to make that happen. I'm a little nervous about the first round, but I get that every year and I think if I didn't I wouldn't be human so it's all good! With the Showdown rules I know there are pros and cons that I am sure will affect us all at some point during the season so I'm just going to do my best every weekend and ride the wave, then we will see what happens. Bring it on!”

Waters said: “I can’t wait to get started in the Championship as I have been looking forward to the first round for weeks! It has been hard to judge where everyone is at during the recent tests because of the weather, but at the same time it gave me a chance to learn the tracks which was important. I really want to have a good start to the season and get some good results for the Milwaukee Yamaha team.”

William Dunlop - ready to rock n'roll...
Dunlop said: “It feels good to get the season started but at the same time it was unfortunate that the weather meant we didn’t get as much testing as we would have liked. For me this is a really different start to the season and we want to build up throughout the weekend and over the opening rounds.”

Team owner Shaun Muir concluded: “The whole of the team are looking forward to getting the season started this weekend and we intend to have a strong opening round both for James and Josh in the Superbike class and for William in Supersport. This will be the first weekend for the new look Milwaukee Yamaha team and we want to make an impression.”

William Dunlop- Will see plenty of action in 2013

“Joining a team like Milwaukee Yamaha means that on the roads all I have to think about is about going as fast as possible. We will be able to do lots of testing able to get up to speed before the first race, so this is a great team to get involved in," said Dunlop.

“I would not have taken the ride if I did not think I could win a TT, especially on the Yamaha R6 which is my favourite bike to ride but there's no reason why I can't challenge for a win on the Superbike too.

“Racing in Supersport is going to be different because of the new tyres but I think I can do a good job. We have all the tools and I am looking forward to it.”
